On Wednesday our school was featured in the Redland City Bulletin as ‘Rising Stars’ for the excellent work they are engaging in with their writing. I recognise the past five years Star of the Sea has engaged in clear goals for improvement, setting up expectations, consistent practices embedded across the school and developing a culture of learning. Today we were filmed to tell the story of the shift our teachers have taken on board to be responsible and accountable for student progress. We look forward to sharing our journey to Bump Up student learning next week at our Parent Engagement evening. The Learning and Teaching goal for our Explicit Improvement Agenda is to ‘develop assessment capable visible learners so that all students experience challenge, success and improved learning.’ The Bump It Up walls allow students to extend their learning ‘beyond the C’ (at standard) to reach for a B (above standard) or an ‘A’ (Well Above Standard).
